Spicy Orange Ginger Basa

Submitted by: Leslie, FL
Source: The back of a package of Publix Basa Fillets

12 oz. Publix Basa Fillets
4 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh ginger
1 medium jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup orange juice

Thaw basa according to labeled instructions.*

Season basa filets with your favorite seasoning.

Heat 2 Tbsp. of butter in a frying pan.  Add seasoned basa and pan fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.  Gently remove from pan and set aside, keeping warm.

Add the remaining butter to the hot frying pan.  Sauté ginger and jalapeno pepper for 1 to 2 minutes until tender.  Add cilantro and orange juice, bring to a boil and remove from heat.  Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve immediately over fish.

Serves 2.

* Thawing instructions: Best results are achieved when thawed in refrigerator 8-12 hours or overnight.  For quicker thawing, place fillets in colander under cold running water for about 5-10 minutes, gently rotating for even thaw.  Drain well.  Pat dry with paper towel.  Thawed fish is ready for preparation in your favorite recipe.  Do not refreeze the thawed product.
